Huricane Agatha struck Guatemala with rain, causing flooding and landslides, and leaving more than 92 persons dead, displacing over 92,000 people housed in 97 centers, according to Alejandro Maldonado, secretary of the National Coordinator of Disaster Reduction (CONRED). The international airport remained closed due to accumulation of sand fro the eruption of the Pacaya volcano, although small engine planes and helicopters were able to take off. Corn, beans, drinking water, instant soups, diapers, and sanitary napkins are in high demand.
