Seated: Ana Lourdes Encinias, Vilma Joralmon, and Argelia Escobar
Standing: Aldo A. Aguirre, Henri Soza, Edgar Silvestre, and Edgar Escobar

The board of directors of the Guatemalan Association of San Diego County welcomed Honorary Vice Consul Dr. Aldo A. Aguirre, during a regularly scheduled board meeting. "We are very honored to welcome Dr. Aguirre to San Diego and are grateful for his ongoing support," said Vilma Joralmon, current secretary and acting chair.

"San Diego County is a very important link for immigrants coming through Mexico from Guatemala. As the very first major city just north of the San Ysidro border point in Tijuana, San Diego needs to have a well-organized group of Guatemalans to address the needs of so many immigrants chasing the American Dream," commented Aguirre.
